Create Watch Lists Help

You can create Watch Lists for your equities, options, indices or mutual funds. When you open a Watch List, the data associated with the symbols are updated in real time. You can print Watch Lists and save them to a file or the server.

To open a Watch List:

  1. From the DTN.IQ Smart Bar, click on the Watch List icon. 

The Open Watch List box appears.

  1. Click on the Watch List.
  2. Click on OK.

The Watch List appears.

  1. To switch the current window to a different Watch List:
    • Point to an area with data and click the right mouse button.
    • From the right mouse menu, select Switch.

The Open Watch List box appears.

    • Click on a Watch List.
    • Click on OK.

The original Watch List closes and the new Watch List appears.

To open multiple Watch Lists:

  1. From the DTN.IQ Smart Bar, click on the Watch List icon. 

The Open Watch List box appears.

  1. Select a Watch List, and click on OK.

The Watch List appears.

  1. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to open additional Watch Lists.

To use the Add Watch List wizard to create a new Watch List:

  1. From the DTN.IQ Smart Bar, click on the Watch List icon. 

Or

    • From an open Watch List, point to an area with data and click the right mouse button.
    • From the right mouse menu, select Switch Watch List.
  1. In the Open dialog box, click the NEW button on the lower right side of the window.

The Add Watch List wizard — Modify Watch List appears.

  1. In the Watch List Name field, enter the name of the Watch List., and then click on Next.
  2. Select one of the following items to include in the Watch List:
    • Symbol to add an equity, index, or other financial entity.
    • Annotation, to include a comment in the Watch List.
  1. Enter the symbol or annotation, and then click on Add.
  2. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to include additional symbols and annotations in the Watch List.

Note: To remove a symbol or annotation, highlight an entry in the list of Symbols and Annotations, and click on Remove.

  1. Select the order of symbols and annotations for the Watch List:
    • In the list of Symbols and Annotations, highlight the symbol or annotation to move.
    • Click on the Up or Down button.
    • Repeat to move the other symbols or annotations.
  1. Click on Next.

The Add Watch List wizard — Finish window appears.

  1. Click on Finish.

The Watch List with the symbols and annotations appears.
