Customize Charts Help

You can customize your DTN_IQ Chart by selecting the defaults for the symbol type, Chart increment, and Chart type.

  • The Chart increments are Tick, Minute, Daily, Weekly and Monthly.
  • The Chart types are as follows:

H/L/O/C, which uses high-to-low vertical lines and horizontal ticks to identify the day’s open and close.

Candlestick, which uses two-dimensional bodies to identify the open-to-close trading range and uses upper and lower stems to mark the day’s high and low.

Tip: When you draw a Chart, you can override the defaults by selecting different settings from the Chart toolbar.

You can set data point intervals. A data point interval is how many points are shown on the Chart. You select the base number from the Settings dialog box, then display different data point intervals by using the zoom feature on the Chart toolbar. The number of data points changes as you zoom in and out.

You can also select the location of the Y axis, display or hide grid lines, and select the style of the grid lines. You can indicate if the Y axis is a fixed or flexible scale, specify whether Charts scroll by time increments or percentage of the screen, and indicate which minute data to load or which tick data to load.

Tip: Your Chart settings apply to any Chart you draw, until you change the settings. You can customize Chart from a blank window or from a window with data.
