NASDAQ Level II Data Columns Help

The DTN.IQ Level II window is divided into two sides, Bid quotes and Ask quotes. By default all available columns are displayed. You can customize the window by showing/hiding columns, selecting the order of columns, adjusting the width of columns, and selecting fonts.

The following tables describe the bid and ask quote data on the DTN.IQ Level II window.

Heading Title Description
MMID Market Maker ID of participating NASDAQ Market Maker. A Market Maker is a firm that takes a position in a NASDAQ security by indicating prices for which it is willing to buy and sell that security.
Bid / Ask Bid / Ask Price at which the Market Maker is willing to buy or sell the security.
Size Size of bid or ask Number of shares the Market Maker would like to buy or sell the security.
Time Time Placed Time when the Market Maker generated the order to buy or sell the security.
Date Date Placed Date when the Market Maker generated the order.

Quote Condition – Conditions applicable to the Quote

  • Note: All quote conditions other than L and R, apply only to Exchange quotes.

Reason – Used in the No Quote message. Defines the reason the quote has no inside.

Code Value
D Issue being deleted. Bid and Ask are zero.
F Issue in a trading halt, not current in required filings. Bid and Ask are zero.
G Issue in a trading halt, quotation cancelled. Bid and Ask are zero
L Issue in a trading halt, noncomplicance with NASDAQ listing requirements. Bid and Ask are zero.
M Issue has no acitve Market Makers. Bid and Ask are zero.
O Operational trading halt, Bid and Ask are zero.
P Issue in a trading halt, pending receipt of information requested by NASDAQ. Bid and Ask are zero.
Q Issue in a trading halt, SEC suspension. Bid and Ask are zero.
T Issue in a trading hlt, dissemination of news and resumption times.
X issue in a trading halt, other regulatory reasons. Bid and Ask are zero.
Age – Length of time Market Maker has had its bid or ask quote available.
  • NOTE: By default, the NASDAQ Level II Age field in in New York time. You can adjust the time for your location by indicating the number of hours to offset from New York time.

To change the order of columns:

  1. From the DTN.IQ Smart Bar, click the NASDAQ Level II icon. 

Note: You can change this setting from a blank Level II window or from a window with data.

  1. Left click on the column header and hold down the left mouse button.
  2. Now drag the column header to the desired point and release the left mouse button.

To adjust column width:

  1. In the Level II window, point to the right column border of the field to adjust.

The cursor changes to a double-headed arrow.

  1. Press and hold the left mouse button and move the cursor

Left to decrease the column width.

Or

Right to increase the column width.

  1. Release the mouse button when the desired width has been reached.

Tip:  Click on the Auto Size Button  to automatically adjust the column width to the size of the data displayed.

To select NASDAQ Level II fonts:

  1. From the DTN.IQ Smart Bar, click the NASDAQ Level II icon. 

Note: You can change this setting from a blank window or from a window with data.

  1. Click on the toolbar Settings icon. 

Or

If the window has data, right click on Level II data and from the right mouse menu select Settings.

The Settings dialog box appears.

  1. Select the General tab.
  2. Click on the Select Font button.

The Font dialog box appears.

  1. Select the font, font style, and font size for NASDAQ Level II data.
  2. Click on OK to close the Font dialog box.
  3. Click on OK to close the Settings dialog box and save your changes.

The system redraws the window with the new font.
