Watch List Alerts Help

You can set up alerts based on any field of your watch list as well as news headlines. For alerts to work, you must have the alerts field displayed on your watch list. You can enable or disable all alerts or selected alerts. After you set up your alerts, when data on an open Watch List meets the alert criteria the system pops up an Alert Notification. You can

  • Click on the x in the upper right-hand corner to close the Alert Notification and return to the Watch List.

Or

  • Click on Trade Now to execute the trade.

Or

  • Click on Reset Alert to Reset the Alert value by increasing or decreasing the trigger point by a numerical or percentage value.

Note: After the system notifies you of an alert, it disables it. If you wish further notification for that symbol, you need to reset the alert.

  3. Choose the Audio file you would like played when the alert fires (or none for a silent alert). You can use the included audio files, or any audio file on your computer in .wav format.
  4. If you want the audio alert to continuously play until you confirm that you have seen the alert, check the “Repeat Sound Until Acknowledged”.
  5. To have the alert sent to your cell phone, pager, or email address, place a check in the E-Mail checkbox. If you are sending the alert to a cell phone or pager with limited display lines, place a check in the Do Not Show Email Body checkbox. This will send an email with a subject only containing the symbol and last price for the alert as opposed to the full alert text.
  6. Click on OK.
